Hi,

I am about to go to Saudi Arabia for a period of work.

Is there any problems with taking model armour kits to build? Will I have a problem with customs etc???

Cheers

If you mean just taking kits along, then no, I can't think of a logical reason for that to be a problem. But traveling with knives and chemicals (paints, glues, solvents, etc.) MAY propose a risk. Usually mail will work just fine for those things...those products have to get around somehow! Get in contact with DHL, FedEx, etc. to see what their regulations and limitations are. Good luck with the move!

Might be possible to purchase tools and paint in Saudi Arabia.
Found this listing for a shop in Al Kobar - A city in eastern Saudi Arabia. It is from 2003, so I don't know if the information is still good:

Barahin Bashin Trading Establishment.: Aircraft Models and Hobby Shop!!!

The only aircraft models and hobby shop in Al Khobar that specialises in selling all kinds of models at very reasonable rates!!! Cheaper than the original prices!!! Also sells a lot of Waterford lead crystalware on the mezzanine floor above!!! And you can browse around and see what you want and nobody will pressurise you to buy anything except ask you to leave during the prayer times!!!

What to buy: Plastic models of all types of aircraft, ships, cars and trains are available in most of the standard scales and sizes at very cheap prices and with a 20% discount off marked prices!!! Paints, putty, craft knives, brushes, paint guns and other modelling accessories are also available at very reasonable rates!!! Also available are some other models to build for children and a lot of games and toys too!!!

What to pay: From about SR15 for the smallest to about SR200 for the largest model kits. Plus a discount of 20% off the prices mentioned here.
