I'm going to make the leap and get an airbrush (some leap, huh?). I have an old Kobalt (i.e., Lowes-brand) 1.5 gal compressor with that runs 135 max. I know I need a regulator and moisture trap for it. The problem is that when I look at regulators online, they don't list the max air in (I read on another thread that regulators have a max in-psi). For example, neither thisPaasche nor this Badger state what the maximum psi they can take. Any ideas how to decipher this or a suggestion for a regulator that will work for me?

Hello Bob,
Most good airbrush compressors w / tank deliver approx. 40 to 75 psi of
pressure, depending on the make and most airbrush comp regulators
are designed to handle those pressures thus having lower max. pressure
and you are able to fine tune air output.
Since you will be using a compressor that delivers 135 psi, you need to
get a gauge that can handle a higher psi output say 140psi/11 bar.
These are the numbers on the face of the dial that will indicate max. pressure
handling of that gauge.
Also note that the higher pressure handling of a gauge the less precision
tuning of air output you will have between increments.

Any store that carries air tools will stock this type of gauge.
Is there a water trap on your compressor?
If not, get the water trap w/ regulator gauge combo....should run between
$19.95 to $29.95 depending on the brand.
I don't know where you are located but Walmart, HomeDepot, Lowes etc.
will carry this item.
Just make sure that the gauge rates over your compress output.
