Hey guys,
I can't hold back any longer. I NEED a camera and tripod so I can start posting build logs.
Please let me know what digital camera you guys use. I would only use it for modelling, so macro is my main concern. My price range is up to $200-300, depending on how much value is added for that extra $100.
Thanks all and look forward to a build log soon (Bronco H39 10.5cm, 1/2 complete).
Thanks,
Mark

I have a Cannon SX130 that I really like a lot. Camera reviews rate Canon Macro features as tops in the field and I agree. They are energy gobblers so recharge batts and chargers are a must.If you use reg batts(AA) the low batt signal comes on quickly but the battery still has 40% of it's charge left. Plenty for other uses. I got mine from Beach Camera in New Jersey through Amazon.com . They(Beach Camera) also run fantastic package deals on evil-bay for USD 200.
IMO, the best camera out there before spending big money on a SLR level.
Cheers!

Thanks for getting back. My friend who is into photography convinced me about DSLR cameras.
I am looking at a Nikon 3000 with a macro lense. It will be about $600 total. A little more than I wanted, but I would like to have good macro. I build enough models, so it will get its use.
Anyways, look for a build log in a week or two.
Mark out.

I have a Nikon CoolPix P6000, it has a macro shooting mode built into it. It might be an option, would be a little cheaper. I beleive I paid about $300 CDN for mine. I am not sure if it is made any more, but I beleive most of the P-series from Nikon include the marco mode.
