Hi everyone!
Does anyone know of a silver or aluminium paint that does not have massive flakes of metal in it like Tamiya XF-16, and is an acrylic? Gunze make a great Aluminium but it is laquer, and it rubs off easily.

The best I've heard of is Alclad. They also make a primer for it, so it shouldn't rub off.

Actually Alclad is a lacquer paint.
Lifecolor has in its range a silver paint

But probably the best acrylic silver is the Air valleyo one

Btw, have they updated the composition of the Model Air metallics?
I have three bottles which I bought in around 2006 and they all behave weirdly: They take much longer to dry than similar acrylics, remaining tacky for quite a while, and arent' waterproof when finally dry. Though it's no problem to protect them with an airbrushed coat of varnish, they quickyl react to moisture and like to come off quickly.

Yes it is. That is why I included the bit about the primer.

I just went and ordered one of the Lifecolor paints from the UK and one of the Vallejo from Japan. My experience with the Lifecolor paint illustrates exactly what is wrong with local hobby shops. Both the initial price and the postage on the one from the UK WAS LOWER than those of any shops I looked at in Australia. And they wonder why people are shopping overseas rather than in Australia. It cost my a total of GBP4.90 from the UK and it would have cost me over AUD$12 if I bought here. Postage was over AUD$8 from Victoria to here (about 1400km) whereas postage from the UK was just GBP2.45...

No problem. I was just trying to steer you towards better results.
