I do Tazz.

Planes- spring and summer,

Armor-fall and winter, with the exceptional aircraft thrown in to break up the pattern.

I build both as well. I have many projects going on now including my new arch nemisis Trumpeter's 1/32nd F105G Wild Weasel; it's not bad, but I expected more from a company said to be challenging Tamiya and Hasagawa!!! I also have a DML 1/35th Hornisse and a Tamiya 1/48th F4D Skyray on the bench to name a few!!! STUG

I build both too,I build planes in the spring to fal since my workshop is a shed in the back yard. Keeping it warm in the winter is near impossible. And I build tanks in the winter
The resoning behind all this is with planes you have to paint from the get go, but armour MOST of the time I can get it 99% inished before I need to paint. But I have spent some cold nights out in the shop

Both, both, both with an odd ship or a very rare car(competition car naturely) thrown in to keep from growing stale.

I started with 1/72 aircraft, moved up to 1/48 air then into small scale ships and now 1/35 armour.

Now I build whatever grips my imagination, whenever.

Happy modelling

Well i guess that your not alone in this...
Me as well build an occasionally plane besides Armor .

I have a plane in the closet and is screaming to be build but due to soem major armor projects i think it will be there still next year .

( I think i will add some pictures of the planes i build over the years here at Armorama )

Hate to sound redundant but - Me Too
I'm looking at about 25/75 split on planes/armor.

Hi!
My focus is on Armor and AFV in 1/35th scale, but as I like the some classic warbirds, I er-started to build a collection of this in 1/72nd scale, but these planes are just to relax, and I don't care to detail , I build them OOTB, no weathering too... And I'm having a lot o fun since I re-started my small collection....
Cheers (++)

If it's WWII, I build it. I started out building planes, but then armor and even ships caught my imagination. You are right in thinking that there are different techniques to master in each category, but fortunately, the basics remain the same. And for me, getting good at one seems to make you more proficient at another as well. I guess practice does make you better.

Years ago, I built 90 % planes. I liked the variety and the different color schemes. Armor was limited because I wanted it same scale as my aircraft 1/48. So after doing all the Bandai kits that interested me that was it until I discovered Tony Greenlands Armor model book and the vast improvement of 35th scale tanks (over the 70's versions). Now its 90 % armor, though I am partial to Naval aircraft, especially float planes.

Used to do a little of everything, ships, planes and armor. Very little armor though. But after seeing all of these great armor pieces here, I am gearing up for more armor. Won't abandon my planes though.

Hey mavric-

I have done armor exclusively.... however, after taking a look at some of the planes here - I have a Tamiya FW190 en route from greatmodels webstore. LOL - never done a plane before. I'm doing the exact opposite of you :-)

I usually do armour but like to do aircraft for a bit of a change of pace. I also do the occasional ship but that's few and far between. :-)

I have an extensive collection of armor models of all eras as well as quite a number of aircraft., mainly WW2 props, but I do have several jets and a lot of helicopters.

My hat's off to you guys that can build aircraft!! I love A/C, know enough about them to get by, I just couldn't get a decent build for the life of me.

Jan, is your job equivalent to a kid being in a candy store?

I build armor and planes...Mostly armor..with a few planes...1/32 scale Fieseler Storch & Stuka (from Revell) and Bf 109G-6 (Hasegawa re-tool), 1/48 Tamiya Me 262 A-2 and AMT/Ertl 1/48 Lockheed S-3A Viking. The only ones I've built are the Fieseler and Stuka..and i'm not real happy with either of them. It's all in the painting...and my aircraft painting skills are not that great.....luckily i only build for me.....I won't be winning any competetions soon.
I did just get the Tamiya Pershing and I am really looking forward to building it! My armor skills are much better than my aircraft painting skills. Jeff

I buy and build what ever sparks my interest and time and budget allow. I have built up my inventory mostly of armor so far with just a few jet aircraft. Started last winter a F-18 Blue Angeles kits with my daughter. We will have to get back io it now that fall is here.

I build armor, softskins and planes, although the planes are a minority (unless you count V1 and V2 as planes ).
Would like to build a 1/35 German Submarine though (move over Leopold #:-) )
