white spirit cracking wheels?

hey guys, simple question, why does white spirit crack styrene wheels?
hobbyboss 1/48 sherman, vision models Ba-64 are kits where i have had this problem.

Are you using the white spirit in a wash over an enamel paintjob? It's a very stromg solvent. What's probably happening is the white spirit is dripping down and pooling round the wheels. You need to give the vehicle a coating of acrylic varnish to protect the plastic.

Hey Pat, im going over acrylic, tamiya or Lifecolour, its odd, as it only happens now and again. ill make sure the wheels are completely paint sealed next time i think.
