I can't see to do any close up work now. I had it done a few days ago, so my eyes are still adjusting. Eventually I'm going to need a better system than my large magnification lamp. Any suggestions?

For small detail work, I wear a pair of powerful reading glasses, an magnifying visor over that and my desk lamp's magnifying lens. I'm almost blind(something to do with what parts of my brain the bullet hit), but can paint 1/35 pupils with relative ease.

check with a medical supply house for a drs magnifying visor, used to remove sutures. should provide the vision you need and it has different levels of magnification powers.

Thank you both for the replies. I'll look for a good visor.

http://www.doneganoptical.com/

The product is called Optivisor. The "plates" come in varying strengths with differing depth of field. Some experimentation may be needed. Also they have High Intensity LED add ons, loupe attachments, etc.

Focal Length Power
14 Inch 1.75x Power
10 Inch 2.00x Power
8 Inch 2.50x Power
6 Inch 2.75x Power

Available from many of the main of the main stream mail order stores, Squadron, etc.

Also through jewelry repair/watch repair type sources. Also Micheal's, AC Moore, Hobby Lobby whatever is in your area. Regular hobby shops should at least know of it and be able to order it.

I can't get by without it. Good luck.
