I've been using a Paasche VLS for the last year or two, but I can't seem to get fine lines with it. Last night I dialed the pressure down to 10 PSI and sprayed Tamiya paint thinned 50:50 with Tamiya acrylic thinner. I moved in close and still couldn't get tight coverage. Now I have the opportunity to pick up an IWATA HP-C at a great price and I'm wondering whether I should grab it. The alternative would be to wait for an HP-C Plus from Santa. Any thoughts on the differences between these airbrushes from those who have used them?

I haven't used the just "c" model, but i have the c+, and it is brilliant - nothing short of that. only downside is cleaning, as the nozzle is pretty small.

I love my straight "C" I've managed to get some pretty fine lines with it.

Thanks for the input. Related question ... would I be able to reuse the hose from my Paasche VLS for an Iwata or Grex brush? Not sure if they're generally compatible?

you'd need an adapter to do it. http://www.amazon.com/Adapter-Iwata-to-Paasche-Hose/dp/B000ND6GNO
