Whenever I am logged into the site, I notice at the bottom of the page the list of online members. It also occasionally lists 1 hidden user.
I don't remember ever clicking on the "Hide User" button on any members' posts, but may have done so inadvertently.
Is there a way of restoring the hidden members?.

Those are two different things. The hidden users at the bottom of the page are set that way in their own profile settings page (those users prefer not to have their identity shown as 'online'). The hide user functionality in the forums can only be reset to show all users. There should be such a link on the page when you are on a forum topic page. Look for a show or restore all hidden users link.
