I am looking for 20mm ammo belts to swap for the vinyl ones contained in Academy's 1/35 Vulcan kit. Do these exist? Thanks.

No idea. But how's the detail on those vinyl ones? Perhaps they could be redone in resin. You could still bent them to fit with judicious application of heat.

I would have to buy all the supplies to cast them in resin. I have a part I need to duplicate anyway. Cost me about $40 from Hobby Lobby.

You can get the whole delux Alumilte kit from them for way less than that. The problem is, the last time I went there armed with my 40% off coupon they were out of that kit. In fact, I've never seen them stock more than one at a time.

I can only afford to make about 1 trip a month.

Upon closer inspection, the ammo belt is not suitable for resin casting. The bullets are rectangles, instead of round.

That's a shame. Maybe some aftermarket guys need to be made aware.
I'd try to do one on the lathe, but it's more suited to making locomotive parts than something that small. I've had luck with an aluminum barrel or two.
Perhaps someone out there has a mini-lathe? (which ought to be my next purchase)

I'm actually looking at a Taig and a Sherline mini lathe. But, something this small would be too time consuming. I've decided to go with a 30cal ammo belt, as there wouldn't be that much diffence in size.

I'd be curious to see how much of the ammo is still visible through the ammo feed chute. I think the Eduard set has the PE for the feed chute.

I'm trying to keep this build as mostly OOB. Already have a crew and some figures from Vietnam lined up. From what I've seen, quite a bit of the belt is visible once assembled.
