Very nice! Looks like it could be right out of a David Macaulay book. Now all you need are some 1/72 Romans.

I've always been a fan of neo-classic Roman architecture. What do you plan on using for the streets?

Didn't most Roman towns have cobble streets?

if i remember right, from my tour of pompei, they used a type of stone that would reflect moonlight to help light the streets at night. i wanna say it was limestone

Thanks.
The romans did have a sort of cobbled street,
hereīs a good article on them here
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roman_roads
I based the town on some of the houses from Pompei, and the pavements (as in the first pic) around my houses are a cartoonish copy of them.
What will I use for the roads? The town is now on hold, a couple of the buildings may be used for a medeival town I am making, but i would use the insulating foam for the roads when it gets re-started.
As for the roman figs...I have about 4000 of them (painted) so thatīs no real problem :-D

Hereīs a how to...they are soooo easy to build and dam cheap.
Is a pretty long how to:

Hi Paul,
Looking great.
My father made a lot of 1/72'ish 'Normans' in the 50s-60s out of plastine stuck on a wire frame. they have held up very well but I think they were'nt played with but rather placed and left insitu.
Anyway, a quick way to make a lot of figures too.

regards
Peter H
