Just curious who other modellers are using for mail orders? Being in Ottawa area, I find the hobby shops are not a fully stocked as per say like Toronto store, thus leading to looking for stuff online, especially rare stuff and detail kits.

For me I typically use Sprue Brothers or UltraCast.

I mainly purchase in the secondary market, but I've used Elm City Hobbies with excellent results.

I also live about 15 miles from an internet store, so my Dragon USA needs are usually met.

My L.H.S. Burnaby Hobbies carries a decent stock but mail order I have been using Lucky Model, Sprue Bros. Freetime and White Ensign and I have just used Hobbystuff and Trackjam both of which were excellent.

Just saying I have become more attached to Sprue Brothers of late, the Black Friday(American Thanksgiving), Cyber Monday, and Pre-Chritmas sales kind of filled my stash to keeping me building for a while. Awesome prices, and fast delivery.

I have been finding Sprue Brothers everyday prices beat almost anything I see anywhere, and the fact that they take Paypal helps greatly in my decision.

Hi Kevin,

I'm in Ottawa too. The Hobby Centre by Costco has a good selection of kits and supplies and prices are pretty decent too.

For mail order, I've used Lucky Model many times. Never been dinged for HST or Canada Post fees either.

If you are looking for Hobbyboss or Trumpeter, then you cannot beat the prices of Hobbystuff Depot out of Calgary.

I use NorthStar Hobbies in Toronto. I normally drop in rather than the mail order, Sheldon and Jake are cool guys and very helpful.

I try to buy kits at the brick and mortar's but I'm hopelessly picky about subject matter. I do make a point of buying all my paint and tools from them, and I feel this is the most profitable area anyway.

For kits and PE I'm big on easyhobby. Really can't go wrong.
