One of my weak points seems to be my photos. so I thought i'd revisit my last build and try some more photos..

I use a polaroid 12 megapixal camera with macro, a tripod and using a timer. no flash.

here is one of my original sets. of a 1/72 scale tiger.....

photo taken close up with the background close to the model.. resized and taken with multible light sources indoors.



here is the first of the test photos taken at a distance of 3 to 4 feet, outside in daylight, with the model a lot farther from the background aprox 1 1/2 feet. zoomed in partway using the macro and timer on the tripod

photo was cropped and resized to 60%



below is the same photo using the photo enhancer....



I think the one using the photo enhancement shows the model colors most accurately and the first one taken inside with multiple daylight (ott light) lighting just looks like the colors are washed out.. I don't know why...

here is another photo I took outside also

cropped the photo, but no resizing done photo taken about 2 feet away...

do most people shoot outside?

Outside sunlight on a sunny day is too hard .Also when positioning a model for some shots , make sure the lighting is placed in such a way to create the smallest possible shadows or dark spots.Ideally you should have 2 or 3 lighting sources each hitting the model from an opposite angle of the other .Also if you have a digital camera , adjust the exposure setting so your sensor isn't getting overexposed. ie the washed out colors.Most of the times professional photographers are using some sort of disperser for the light source and dont have the light hitting straight onto the subject itself.The trick is to create ambient light by placing soft clothes or other materials in front of the lights or simply turn them facing slightly of the target itself.
