Over the past couple of days, I watched two excellent refference movies. Both have to do with the assault of Iwo Jima. The first is "Flags of our Fathers" and deals with the raising of the flag on Suribachi. The second is "Letter from Iwo Jima" and depicts the Japanese soldiers present there. Clint Eastwood shines as director of both movies. A definite plus for any Pacific Theater modeller.

Two good modern reference films: Restrepo and This Is War. Both more documentaries than films, but good all the same.
