Okay guys, im having a short run of grandfather clocks cast up for production.
the only thing is, the hands are too fine to be cast in resin.
im not sure to go about the hands problem, as i cannot afford to etch them,
i was thinking os supplying a small snippet of lead wire to " cut to size"

what do you all think?

Hey James, maybe draw a pattern for the hands and photo copy on oak tag paper. Stiff enough for holding shape and glue and thin enough for scale. I think the plain round wire wouldn't look or feel right. Or use a sippet of real thin plastic card with the pattern on it. The customer can then trim them out and glue on. Another thought, if you have the computer skill; make a set on decal paper to attach to the clock face. Hope something here helps you out. bob d.

Bob's decal method sounds good. Printed card sounds good, too. This is how MRE cartons and other box goods are done. Maybe embossed foil images to be cut out by the modeler. Might be too small for Die cut method.
Cheers!

Office supply or art store. The beige paper/card file holders are made of it.

Great ideas on the oak tag and decals, another way might be to include a paper template and a thin piece of styrene sheet (.010 ?) Looking forward to your finished product and congrats on getting these cast

James, how are you handling the clock face? Can the hands be incorporated on to it?
