Am now getting close to using up my space and want to clear out spare pics that have not been used in my posts. Is their a way to mark and select multiple pics and delete them rather than go through them one by one ?

If you had them in albums, you could simply delete each album, but the way you have them, you will need to delete each one, one at a time.
