I recently saw an episode of Hogan's Heroes where our heroes arrange to have a Tiger tank sent to Stalag 13 so they can examine it closely. A real tank is driven in, but...it's an M7 Priest!, though with a few token Wehrmacht decorations and a new cannon with a gun muzzle. Somehow it made me think of Danny DeVito playing Paul Bunyan.

Filmed only 20 years after the war, you'd think enough people would know a Tiger if they saw one, and Hollywood must have been swimming in war surplus of all shapes and sizes. They must have gotten a really good deal on that Priest, not to use something (anything) better!
Of course, the whole show was a mockery, so why not?
What I always remember was (same plot, I guess) when they had Hogan and Klink fly a bizarre two-seater P-51 back to Germany for study.
thanks,
Sean.

haha I just watched that episode after reading this post. Yup that muzzle break looks like a prop recreated to look like it's from an M41
