This is the description from Amazon:
"Winner of the 2010 Sundance Grand Jury Prize, and heralded as possibly the best war film ever made, Restrepo focuses on the deployment of a US platoon in Afghanistan's hostile Korengal Valley . Over the course of 15 months, the two filmmakers Tim Hetherington and Sebastian Junger (author of 'The Perfect Storm') lived with the unit shadowing their every move, resulting in extraordinary footage. From spectacular combat and ambush scenes to difficult discussions with local village elders, civilian and military deaths, never before has such access been granted. Restrepo is as close as it gets to seeing what life as a soldier is really like."

My comments: this is a documentary, not a film as most people would think of a film. Well worth watching for anyone interested in modern conflicts. Very close-up and personal of the men of the platoon with good images of Humvees inside and out, uniforms, weapons and the conditions these men live in under near constant attack. It is all based in 2007/08

Highly recommended for it's informative nature, not as entertainment

In addition to the film you need to check out the web site. In it Salvatore Giunta - MOH is interviewed. He was part of a unit asked to recover the weapon and pack stolen by the Taliban in the firefight in Restrepo.

Great video and with the web site completes the picture and shows just how hard a fight Afghanistan is. m:
