Imagine you would like to build a model but nobody makes it. Just design and print it off yourself with your very own 3D printer.

After market companies would probably stand to make the most out of this I think.

I've done it in my Sparrow project it is a really cool technique.

Well in my city there'are specialized workshops that can do it on demand.
You've just to give them a CAD file and you can obtain your resin part.
Unfortunately is already a rather expensive process...and you must have a computer know how.
I'm an industrial designer so I don't have any problem with computer, but I think is not the same for many kit modellers

Anyway I wish someday I could have a 3d printer on my desk

Review of 3d printing

I used this technology for the barrel of a cannon.

It is very cool technology - very labor intensive on the design side.
