Hey guys I live in muddy Manitoba and with talk of a flood this spring that could be bigger than the one in '97. I was wondering if anybody had any pictures of jeeps, trucks, and AFV's used during the flood? I was only in grade 11 when it was going on and my hometown was about an hour and a half away from Winnipeg when it going on and the only time I saw any CF equipment was when I was working at the local convenience store and an Iltis Jeep came by with two soldiers and cleaned us out of potato chips and junk food followed by a LSVW to the grocery store doing the same thing. lol

Thanks Jason, were any of you guys deployed? I remember when I was school we changed the lyrics from "Bad Moon Rising" to "Red Sea Rising". lol My inlaws live on the edge of the flood zone about an hour south of the city and they had lots of army people sand bagging around they're place.

I deployed for Op WAPITI a couple years ago. Sat around the armories, and went home.
I wonder if the guys who deployed in 1997 will get a medal the same as the guys who went to Nfld for a couple of weeks after the hurricane?

We drove from Petawawa to Winnipeg and left a trail of lost drip pans all along the Trans Canada..I forget how may sandbags we filled and stacked, but it was endless. Dont know about any medal Graeme, but why on earth should we get one for helping our own countrymen out in time of need.
We stayed in an old brewery while in Winnipeg and the local gang-bangers like to talk to us to discuss the merits of the C-7 and C-9.
