Where did you get that colour? According to any info I can find 'Supermarine Blue' was a medium greyish blue. If you're in the SouthEast check out the replica at Tangmere Museum and the artwork on http://www.k5054.com/artwork.html .

dave,

i went to tangmere and got the colour from there, its def not a greyish blue.
apparently the colour came off a model that was made for mitchels son which was painted with the same paint as the original.

hi paul have you resolved your colour issue yet?i work in a decorative paint shop and have tried to match your colour today.if you go to your local decorators merchant they will have a good selection of swatches .the nearest i could see was on an NCS2 swatch.the colour being S 1050 B20G or S 1050 B30G if you could pop along to your merchant and have a look your local guys should be able to mix something very close in an alkyd gloss.hope this helps
geoff
