Hi all. I don't like being the bearer of bad news, especially when it concerns one of our "family" here on Kitmaker, but thismorning I got a PM from Hermon (VonCuda) that he was in hospital with his wife Selena, who has taken ill very suddenly. I don't need to go into any detail, but I'm sure you will all join with me in praying for a speedy recovery for Selena.
Hermon also asked that I let everybody know that he won't be around these parts for a while, which is perfectly understandable, but he will keep me updated and in turn I will post here.
Hermon my thoughts and prayers are with you and Selena, take care mate and look after your good wife.
Damian

Hermon and his wife Selena are in my thoughts and prayers.
My wife had a heartattack 13NOV09 (a Friday!), resulting in a stint for a 92% blockage. She is doing great, but it sure opens your eyes to what your priorities SHOULD be and that you shouldn't take things for granted.

Hi guys. I appreciate the support from everyone here, and I really, really mean that.
My wife of 20 years (she's only 41) had a severe stroke on Tuesday night the 4th of Jan. She has lost the use of her right arm and right leg for the time being and is unable to speak clearly. After an MRI and CT scan Wednesday morning the surgen didn't seem to think she had much of a chance at recovery but somehow she has turned it all around in 3 days. She now recognizes family and friends and has been able to move her arm and leg with limited success. A second round of tests this morning has shocked the doctors, who know believe she has an excellent chance of around a 90 percent recovery given enough time.
I'm only home now long enough to take a shower and head back to the hospitol with by sons. I just wanted to type this quick message to update all you folks and let you know how much your thoughts and prayers are appreciated.

Herman, best news yet. Who said prayers fall on deaf ears. The best to your wife, family and your self. It may take awhile to recuperate fully but with you by her side, it will be easier for both of you. My wife is terminal and has her bad days but, each good day is the best. Life is very fragile, make the most of it and take nothing for granted. Take care.

Well we're at home now, as of about an hour ago.
My wife is doing great considering a few days ago the doctors were giving her little chance at recovery. Actually, if it wasn't for the walker she's using to get around the house with you'd never know anything was wrong.
She's able to perform small tasks with her right arm/hand now but still can't hold anything small like a writing pen. She is however able to order me and the boys around and tell us what we're doing wrong (must be an Irish red-head thing).
There have been so many people around the world praying for my wife......and I can see first hand that those prayers have not gone unanswered. I want to thank all of you for the prayers and well wishes. They really mean alot to us.
I have a few days off now to take Selena to her doctors office visits and theropy and such. I may even get a chance to sit at the ole work bench sometime soon.
