I realize this isn't really 'news'. Well except for the record setting level of power/velocity involved. But it's really amazing to see this kind of sci-fi tech become reality. It does make you wonder what the future really holds.

I read an article about the rail gun today too. It sure is amazing what that system does.
The Navy is currently testing a catapult launch system that works on the same concept as the rail gun.
I would love to know what the DoD is working on that we don't even know about.

Interesting technology indeed!! What would be even more interesting is them sharing information over "other" electromagnetic devices. David Adair a well respected space technology consultant had spoken over seeing examples of craft and rockets at Area 51 in 1971. Food for thought
