i was looking thru my paints the other day and realised that i regularly use 5 different brands of paint but also have another 4 that sometimes get used.
some are specific like the misterkit paints for ww1 or alclad but also specific colours that cover better than others.

misterkit
humbrol
vallejo model air/model colour
xtracolor
lifecolor
alclad
tamiya

does anyone just stick to one brand?

I use the following in order of preference.

Tamyia Acrylics - Love to spray and hate to brush
Model Master Acrylics - Spray and Brush
Model Master Enamels - Spray and Brush
Lifecolor - Used for figures
Vallejo Air - Just got one bottle to try and have to say I like it a lot. Dries rock hard unlike the Tamyia Acrylics which tend to rub off.
Model Master Metalizer - Have yet to try them. Will use them on a F104 kit I have

Winsor & Newton Oil Paints for washes ect. I might try them for some figure painting.

Let's see...

Tamiya acrylics - spray mostly, and small detail brushing over other coats
ModelMaster acrylics and enamels - spray and brush
Floquil Railroad Colors enamels - spray and brush. Ultra-fine pigments and coats. Also when I need to prime...

I also have some old Humbrol enamels in tins... nice for detail brushing

Windsor & Newton and other artists oils for washes

I use mainly
- Tamiya Acrylics for spray work and
- Vallejo Acrylics for brush work.

I have a few cans of
- Revell Enamel Airbrush left over from a few years back and
- Model Master Enamel Airbrush that I bought to get the right color.

I also have lots of tin cans of
- Humbrol and
- Revell Enamels left from my early days in modeling...

Oh, not to forget 2 different kinds of oil paint...

Cheers!

Hmmm... My list goes:

Tamiya acrylics - vehicle painting via airbrush
Pollyscale railroad acrylics - trains (obviously!) and brushing basic colours on armour (and making washes for weathering)
Humbrol enamels - brushing details
Citadel/Games Workshop - brushing mainly on figures
Valejo/Flames of War - brushing figure uniforms
Revell acrylics - mainly for their Gelboliv to airbrush Bundeswehr stuff

I use GW's spray primers under most of these, and Microscale's Microgloss for decaling.

No wonder there's no room onn my modelling desk!

I don't think anyone really sticks to one brand. There are just too many choices out there. Mostly I use:

Tamyia Acrylics - spray can & brush
Testors Model Master Enamels - spray can & brush
Testors Enamel - spray can & brush
Testors Acryl - brush (don't really like these)
Dupli-Color Automotive Acrylic Laquer- spray can
Dupli-Color Automotive Engine Enamel- spray can
Rust-O-Leum - spray can
Krylon - spray can

For acrylics I use Model Master, though I don't really prefer acrylics for ships. I mostly use WEM Colourcoats since from what I've seen they have the best selection of paints for duplicating WW 2 naval colors. As for primers, I use Krylon For Plastic in rattle cans from Wal-Mart. Stuff works great and its dirt cheap compared to model specific primers.

I use:

P3
Citadel/Gamesworkshop
Reaper master series
Tamiya (for airbrush only)
Vallejo Model Air (airbrush only and all military drab type colours)
Lifecolour (rarely used though)
Mig Abteilung oils and pigments
AK Interactive weathering products

I usually use Tamiya fine spray primer in grey or white although I also like Vallejos airbrush primer in the winter as I don't have to venture outside to prime!
