The dogs woke me this morning barking at the mailperson at the door, very early I might say. I found a package between the doors.

It contained my eagerly awaited kits from the Miniman Factory. The wait was worth it in my opinion.

M1008- A finely cast GM pickup, along with white metal axles, clear lens,a photoetch fret, decals, laser cut grill guard and directions. It does not have any window glass.

The pickup is cast in 2 pieces, cab & bed,as with the frame. A multi-piece interior with bench seat along with numerious tiny pieces like seperate door handles,ws/wipers,clear headlite lens, bridge classification disc, two options for the grill guard, laser etched or white metal and other bits.

The bed is cast with the tailgate closed and as finely and thinly cast as this is would be difficult to open. Several pieces of photoetch for the bed edges and clear lens complete the bed.

Although not a fan of white metal, the 4 wheel drive axles & springs are nicely done and are cleverly designed to allow the wheels to be set at any angle. BTW the correct number of lugnuts are present(8).

The kit requires minor filing and fitting as with all resin kits. All in all a very nice kit filling a hole in the softskin area

Rather than repeat myself. the I'll state the differences between the kits.
M1009- the body & frame are one piece with base acting as the floor of the interior. It has the correct 6 lug rims with nicely done tread area that looks like the Goodyear MT thread. The chassis is well done with 4 wheel drive axles & driveshafts and dual exhausts like the real truck.

The rest mirrors the pickup as they have many common parts. Even tho the axles are different on the real truck, the kits are interchangable. Despite no window glass and a few other things that only an owner might know, these are typical of Miniman Factory = a finely cast box of resin that will build into a beautiful model of the original.

I bought and paid for these kits myself and the opinions are mine alone. I'm sorry but I do not have the ability to add photos at this time. I hope this verbal picture gives some idea of these neat little kits.

They sound pretty nice. I just wish they weren't so expensive.

Oh yeah, here's the thread

Some pics of my kits to go with jakes357's descriptions.
However, my kits included glass as clear flat sheet with cut out shapes
