As you may suspect from my user-name I'm normally into 35th scale armor (modern). However, every now and then I do something different. One genre I like is WWII torpedo boats in 1/72 scale. I just think they look cool but always regretted the lack of detail. About 2 years ago I did a 1/72 Gato submarine. Nice and big but rather simple I thought. The 40mm bofors got broken recently (thats another story) and I ordered the White Ensign replacement. Started putting together at the weekend and just have to say for the scale it is incredible. It's a white metal & PE set:





For any 1/72 scale modelers I have previously joked "to move up to a real scale" I humbly appologise
