I was wondering what everyone is working on at the moment?
I've got a bit on my plate. A 1/72 Panzer 3 from Revell, it's taking ages because of a dodgy primer I used. It said it was suitable for polystyrene but obviously not...
I've also got a 1/35 ZBD 04 IFV from HobbyBoss that I'm painting up slowly and soon I've be starting a 1/72 Harrier GR.5 as I expand into aircraft.
How about everyone else?

For a change from modern armor I'm doing the Airfix 1/72 RAF "Whaleback" Rescue Launch. Picked it up in Marks for €16 last week. Old kit and lots of flash but with plenty of filing it's going together quite nicely. It'll go well with my other 1/72 WWII boats. All revell: Gato, PT, S-boat & Vosper MTB. I'll have to get an Airfix E-boat & MTB which is quite different to the Revell one plus I'd love to be able to afford a U-boat and HMS Snowberry (all 1/72)

My current project is Dragon's Pz IV F1 in 1/35th scale. It is such a nice kit ! The fit is like Dragon is trying to make a kit that you don't need glue. Well, tomorrow is Saturday and I'm going to paint the interior and get it ready to complete it. Then paint the outside next weekend.
Next kit is going to be an "oldie" from Dragon's "Imperial Series" a Stug III 10.5 CM. No after market stuff, just upgrades from the spares box, some scratch built stuff. This kit is is basicaly to try out new weathering techniques.
Have a great weekend everyone and happy Modeling !!!

Hi folks, I'm halfway through building an IL-2 Stormovik (1/48 Italeri):

Good kit, the cockpit is really detailed, but some of the pieces are slightly misaligned, which means a bit of sanding.
Next off the blocks is a 1/35 Tamiya Gepard- a Cold War era West German self propelled AA. Haven't gotten around to starting it yet, though.

Funnily enough I've recently been playing IL 2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey on the PS3. Large variety of WW2 planes to fly and I can tell you the Sturmovik did not handle well.
Looks like a nice kit though, I've only recently developed an interest in aircraft.

Just finished a Civil War Lancia Lorry,as yet unpainted and starting on an Army Crossley Tender from the same period for the Soft-Skins Campaign. This afternoon the radiator proved a pig to get right. Stll not sure it is!
As I am a campaign addict I also have an M19 GMC for the AA Campaign and an M37 HMC for the Korean War one, on the stocks for the start dates.

Paddy

I've been following your Lancia thread, a very unique subject. Quite interesting source photo's you provided too.
@exer
I wish I had the resources and skill to create a diorama like that.
I've actually been a bit dismayed today. The 1/72 Panzer 3 that I've been working on, a gift from my girlfriend, has been one problem after another. Today I found the link and length tracks were all messed up. One side is using too many tracks, the other will fall short. I can't hide it either because the Panzer 3 has entirely exposed tracks.

@ Vertigo: By all accounts the Stormovik wasn't exactly a graceful princess on any level. She was slow and lumbering, very basic, many of the early ones didn't even have radios! But they were lethal with cannons and/or rockets. They could take an awful amount of punishment and keep flying! If under fighter attack, the tactic was to fly as evasively as hell, the rear gunner to spay the bastard more to put him off than to actually hit him and hope that the fighter expends all it's ammunition before he could bring you down!
@ Exer: your diorama is looking great, any chance of a few close up photos?

They are from a set,so far I have 8, by a Manchester Guardian photographer called Walter Doughty, all taken at the corner of Henry St next to that unfortunate Chemist shop who is having his windows blown in by the blast from the 18 pounder shooting at the Tram Co. offices. If you want I can happily pass them on to you.
Don't be dismayed, the good days when it works always outnumber the days it doesn't.
Pat you have a masterful way with buildings, quite superb.
I have picked up the MiniArt cobbled street with tramlines. I have measured out the replacement flag sets to British (Dublin Corporation)sizes and will need to transform the lamp standard to look Dublinish.
Would you accept that, with a Crossley/Lancia tastefully draped about it for your Urban Warfare Campaign? (told you I was addicted)

Vertigo,
Happy to do so. I have sent you a PM. There is also a 19 minute compilation of
original newsreels taken during the conflict on the British Pathe site.Quite fascinating.
Pat,
Thanks and by then the backlog should be cleared , he said !

Just layed down the groundwork for the 1/72 Panzer III I've mentioned before.
It's the first time I've done something like this. The base is a thick, wooden tea coaster. The groundwork is made up of Plus Modelling Clay which I found in the Arts & Crafts store in the Jervis Centre. I then added a fine gravel from the Hornby selection in the Toymaster at the end on Henry Street, this will later be painted to simulate earth. I also custom made a fence using coffee stirrers, free from a convenience store.
All in all it was a pretty messy afternoon but a nice experiment. Unfortunately I don't pictures but hopefully I will when the project is done.
