here's a tip for you I posted a question about steel wheels on the other fourm on this site and sabot was kind enough to reply by telling me to use a lead pencil to simulate polished road wheels well I remembered I had some powered graphite that i had bought in a hardware shop it's used for lubrricating locks ect, I tried it tonight hey presto by rubbing a little onto your finger then all over the rim it brings up a nice sheen looks even better than humbrol paint and sticks well too! and the bottle I got for £2.95 will last a life time :-)

Yep, That's what I use. I just grind down a number 2 pencil on an emery board until I have a decent pile and then go to town. Works great for gunmetal, too.

instead of wasting time sanding it down it comes in a bottle already ground down
more time for gluey type things
