Knowing Patton, not personally mind you but intellectually, he probably said: "Blood saves sweat".

Hmmm....well a google search of...

"A pint of sweat will save a gallon of blood."

...yields about a zillion responses all saying Patton said it with that wording. Perhaps he was paraphrasing Felix.

haha....well, my three cent's worth....I've heard it said by more than a handfull of Drill Instructors in my day! (that's Corp DI's, not Army, they use proper english.... )
