Hi,
questions - what scale will you be painting in?
and with what kind of paints?
Me- I use acrylics, and use mostly a number 1 or 0 brush, and for super fine details, go to either 0000 or even 00000
Recent;y picked up a long 10/0 brush, used that for putting eyeballs on a 28mm figure.
I selected a few sable brushes, take care of em, they will last a long time,
the others are taklon, designed for acrylic and gouache paints...

For all of my detail painting, I use a 00 or smaller brush. As far as those go, I use taklon brushes. I have one set for acrylics and another for enamels. Where larger brushes are needed, I use sable(pretty much what Jamie said).
