Hello everyone,

I'm looking for any detailed information on fuel drums used by the Allied and Axis. Although images of various fuel drums could be found via Google, I've had difficulties locating anything comprehensive.

In particular, I'm looking close-ups of the caps and text found atop American and German fuel drums.

Thus far, I've seen a few German fuel drums with 200L embossed at the top in addition to some other text which I could not make out.

American fuel drums, I believe, were 55 gallons as standard (roughly 220L). Is this correct? Was there any accompanying text?

With respect to colours, is it also correct that on the whole, the German fuel drums were drab grey while American fuel drums were pale green?

Any information would be much appreciated.

Thank you, greatly.

Indeed that is a terrific source for German fuel drums.

Hopefully I'll find an Allied equivalent somewhere.
