I've just seen on HLJ some new Tamiya kits announced... Besides TOW Hummer, there are some figure sets that tickle my fancy; particulary US Combat Crew Figure Set and British Tank Crew Set. Any possibilities those figures will be modern ones? Anyone has any info?

and whats hlj?

Sorry for the puzzling abbreviation... HLJ stands for Hobby Link Japan. As Mikeli said they are the cheapest on-line source for most Japanese kits, including Tamiya... they also have first previews of Tamiya kits, so I was wondering if anyone heard something more on those figure sets HLJ announced for September.

wow, thats one website i am going to bookmark if its as good as yousay it is.... now if only there was an Academy site just like that or do they stock Academy spare parts as well ?

I don't know about Academy on HLJ... I've just ordered some aftermarket stuff for my T-55 from Hobby Link Japan as they seem to be cheaper than most of the other big-shot online stores. The service so far has been great.. can't wait to get the package.

Hobby Link Japan is great for Sci FI stuff too!
SF3D/MaK and the Hasegawa Valkyries are MUCH cheaper there, also Japanese books and much of the garage kit sci fi stuff too.

The owner is an english speaker, Scott Hards, and is a great guy to deal with.

You can get cheap or quick shipping. I had my T55's the Friday after christmas last year in Vermont.

Color me a very satisfied customer.

Phantom Major,
not only that my order took about 6/8 day to arrive from the other side
of the world and it takes hannants 2 weeks to send a UK order out
HHMMMMMMMM just remember to order the kits in ones or two's and
watch the size or customs will have a poke about and charge the vat on
kits and £14 for opening it cheeky sods!

Mikeli125's right Customs nailed me £8-00, I got greedy and order quite a few kits. Keep it down to one or two and no problems. Orders to the UK seems to take 8 days max.

Just a quick follow up for all those interested in ordering from HLJ... I just
received the package from HLJ; the service was great. Easy navigation trough their
website, secure server and you can always see what's going on with your order...
Package was well secured and it arrived quickly. Besides that, T-55 tracks from
ModelKasten look really nice, I never built link-to-link tracks but the
instructions are very clear and there is jig included, so I guess there
shouldn't be much problems. Fine Molds barrel is impressive.

I have also nothing but good things to say about HLJ. Eventhough I select SAL for shipping I get the goods a lot faster then when ordering from Hannants (and a lot cheaper)

Waiting right now for Tamiyas new Bradley and M113, and a couple of Dragons U.S. Marines...
