Mixing oil paints with enamels

Hi there!

I wanted to know if mixing oil varnish with enamel paint(ex. raw sienna) can produce the coresponding oil paint(ex. raw sienna). Has enyone tried that? Can it be fisible?

Im not sure I understand your question, but you can indeed mix enamels with oil colors. Ive done it with Humbrol enamels and oils and it worked out great!

how would they work with acrylics, seams like it should work to me. I thought about trying it to make a metalic colors.

Acrylics and oils DONT mix well at all!! Maybe metallics are different but I dont think so.

Thanks for the heads up. I was going to try it out soon so you saved me some time and paint. Now that I think about it I guess you would need a thinner based paint not water to cut the oils. Thanks again for saving me another mistake.
