Not the kids!! (not that Ive got any!)

Ive done my undercoat and flesh coat (Tamiya Flesh flat) and would like some advice on getting a suitable wash. Im worried that when I apply the wash it will 'well' in certain areas.

Any ideas?

For washing figure faces I always use a well-diluted solution of Tamiya X-19 Smoke. Got to well diluted though!
