Just a quick question for a name I want to use for a small dio.

What would the Germans call the Americans in WW2?

Would it have been American? Yankees? or another name?

I'm not a German, but I would think it's Ami (plural: Amis).

The Krauts called the Americans "Amis". That would be spoken about "Ameas" (A as in America).

Before making the commitment to this, consider that amis is also French for "Friends."

Well, you could solve that problem by using the article "die" (the), this would have to be used in most cases in German anyway. Or you can make a whole sentence. You can ask me anytime if you need any help with that.
