Finally finished and all moved in
It all started when I thought of giving the old model room a good cleaning, remove everything and fresh paint. Then I decided to remove the cabinets and counter top and it snowed balled from there. After all said and done I knew I was in trouble, that’s when the wife stepped in and said “why not move into the game room” where the kids once played in.

I thought what the heck and go for it. The boys moved out the pool table while the girls picked the rest up. So after a week of cleaning and moving everything down stairs I’m now in a bigger room.

Here’s the old room…

Old room gutted …

And now the now room…

More can be seen here.

Happy Modeling,
Joe

Very nice cave, while you are at it, you should seek out some cabinets with glassfronts to protect your models - Got an Ikea nearby ?

Wheres the beerfridge and the coffeemaschine ?

Cheers/Jan

The new cave is very nice Joe, but I think you should have kept Daisy Duke!

Still, Like Jan said, a glass cabinet (or maybe 5 looking a that collection) would help keep the dust of all those birds

Nice new crip Joe, but your work bench looks like it disappeared, that looks like a very small work area.

Thanks guys, and here’s a kicker…the wife and I are looking to buy a smaller home. Now that the kids are all grown up and moved on it’s rime to pass this old house to some other family with kids. We are looking to down size from a 5 bedroom to a 3 bedroom house, one to sleep in, second a model room and the last to store kits in, got the green light on that. Just so she has a first floor laundry room, bathroom and main bedroom all on the first floor.

You know Sal I always wanted a large work are, but all it turned out was a junk collector, it was always a mess. So far the smaller work area is working out fine and for painting I just swing the chair around and the airbrush is right there set up.

Tom the guntrucks can be seen in my albums, just scroll down some.

Joe here is the link to the Lakota.

You have no idea how true this is. The more space you have, the more junk you collect and store. My modelling "room" is about 10 feet x 6 feet. It has its own door and window and it does everything I need. I can build, spray, paint, store unbuilt models and take photos in it. I have about 60 kits plus maybe 80/90 figure kits and a load of AM, so theres no room to store un-necessary stuff ... or junk.

Cool rooms Joe ... both old and new. Although its nice having your finished models on view, I prefer to have them behind glass so they dont get dusty. Its amazing how much dust spraying generates.

. Do you define the third room as the stash or warehouse?

Nice setup Joe like the room you have.

If not enough shelf space I can always volunteer to store some of the Wingy things here.

What Part of NY you from?

Upstate I guess.
Miss the Island a lot, especially now that it is 100 plus here and no ocean to swim in.
Cause can always go drown in the lake.

Enjoy it well.
