What is the best way to remove photo-etch from the fret ?

Right now I have a cutter, which unfortunately can not reach every part needed... So, if I can not get there, I use a cutter/hobby knife, on a ceramic tile... the underground works fine... but unfortunately, the risk of bending, twisting or damaging parts is quite high, as the blades get blunt very fast.... And this is only with the Eduard set... so I am a litle afraid about what will happen when I start on the Aber sets...

So what do you use ?

I have a set of Xuron PE cutters. They are fantastic. I rarely need to sand down the edges or anything.

use a very sharp scalpel and a ceramic tile put the fret on the tile and cut the part out some
people use very sharp siscors or x-ruon cutting pliers you might have to sand the parts
down flush once you cut them off the sprue :-)

DutchBird,

I always use Tamiya Decal Scissors to cut the PE parts from the fret.
Hope this helps

I use a magnifying lamp (the better to see with) and exacto knife or razor blade (the better to cut with) and a ceramic tile or small piece of glass (the better to...ah heck this isn't little red riding hood, what was I thinking?!) Anyway I usually cut as close as possible (hence my need for a magnifier) and the sand with a sanding stick going with the PE part not against it. Hope it helps.

I use the the same tools as Twisted Fate. A bit expensive but in my view the best available solution.

Go to http://www.micromark.com and look for product #81308. That's the little bugger I use.
