Well I can't figure it out! I've uploaded a photo where it says to for "custom avatar" but as I have an old one I can't seem to replace it with the new one. Any help?

thanks

Uploading the avatar just puts the file in place. You still need to change the default avatar in your profile editing area.

I've tried that, it won't allow me to choose a new "custom" avatar, only to "upload pictures" that then just seem to sit somewhere in my photo albums.

Hi Michael,
The part I assume your missing is you need to go to this page: Modify Profile. And then where you have the three different options for an avatar in the forums (Kirk, Churchill, and yourself), select the radio box next to the avatar you want and then click 'save changes' at the bottom.

Then you should have set your avatar correctly.

Cheers,
Jim

Jim,

Thanks for looking, it's so much easier when we can use actual descriptions!

The problem is that when I look at my profile page what I see is three pictures: Kirk; Narkiss/Dayan/Rabin (a picture I used previously), and myself. I can't seem to replace the Israeli picture with the Churchill picture, at least not in the view I have. Have I missed a step?

Try deleting the old avatar from your gallery - the one you previously uploaded.

OK, good. How?

Seriously, I'm not trying to be difficult, but this is starting to get on my nerves. I thought of deleting the old one, but when I bring it up in "my photos", I can't find any way to actually get rid of it!

1. Login to Kitmaker Gallery
2. Click My Photos
3. Click thumbnail of old avatar (or any other picture to be deleted)
4. Click Edit Photo icon under "Additional Info" header below photo
5. Check box next to "If you want to delete this image completely, check this box" - heed the warning "(CAREFUL - once it's gone it's gone)"
6. Click Submit Changes button

Forgive me for not including the this and that screen opens fluffy bits...

Oh... my... GOD! It WORKED! THANK YOU!!

I did not make the connection between the small icon below the picture that meant "edit" and actually being able to delete. Thanks for steering me the right way!!
