I just got the new books catalog from Casemate today. While thumbing through it I saw a book titled Hetai: Uniforms, Equipment, & Personal Items of the Japanese Soldier 1937 - 1945 by Augustin Sainz. It's about 360 pages and is supposed to have lots of color photographs and illustrations.

I recall in a some past threads the issue of scanty information on the subject came up several times. I wanted to post this bit of info for those who would have an interest in the subject. I'm going to order a copy myself so I have it when I finally get around to building some of my Japanese AFVs.

If anyone has already seen it, can you comment on it?

Followup: Apparently the book is still on preorder with Amazon and with Borders. Amazon had a preorder price of about $40, a $25 discounted price with free shipping, while Borders is asking the full $65 retail price. I haven't checked Casemate's prices but they tend to be close to retail with the few orders I have placed with them.
