Nice one Rick. You served us up a defeat, alright...
Good for us, as we are off the radar a bit now
I heard today that John Travolta jetted himself in to SA today, and in an interview said he was supporting the Aussies?!! These scientologist types are so unpredictable...

Aaaaah I love the smell of optimism in the morning.

All kidding aside... wish every team that is attending the WC the best of luck and hopefully some good play for the fans as well.

Except France....we still haven't forgiven Henry the hand-ball that left us at home this summer!

I'm pretty sure Henry will say it was "La main de dieu"
The same trick maradona got away with in the 80's

I hope Henry sleeps well at night because it was really a foul

Why can't this be laid to rest once and for all? Yep, hand-ball, yes it stopped Ireland qualifying. Oh! weren't their mediocre results also something to do with it?

Thought so...

Until USA gets something approaching a SERIOUS league (no, i'm not talking MLS) and some players below the age of 45 in the MLS, no chance.

Why not stick to basketball? - now U.S. basketball is light years beyond anyone else's - If only it was transmitted at a sensible hour. I not only have the Laker's shirt, i've got the franchised bags under the eyes (tm) thanks to the Play-Offs...

Lets hope for a good Cup and one of the teams i've drawn in the office sweep winning it!!!

Gonna have to support the Might Orange Machine again!

Enjoy the spectacle all.

Wll maybe in another thread Jim... Possibly the most overrated/ sport on the planet. A repetative sport for freaks, overhyped, and full of itself and it's statistics.
Now, back to the world game!

Gotta agree on this view. I'll watch collegiate 'March Madness', but the NBA is by and large much like the Lakers-Team Kobe. If anyone can put an "I" in 'Team', it's him.
How about rugby? I got a team down the road that likes to scrum a bit. They call U.C. Berkely 'Home'.

And emotion shall carry the Day.........
I can easily see our team surfing the Tide of joy much further into the tourney than originally projected. They will play for pleasure without pressure, an unconcious focus.
Look out world!
Cheers!

Why not stick to basketball

I for one will take the first 89 min of a soccer game over the first 40 min of a basketball game any day. But for that matter so do most folks at a basketball game. I think most of the pro BB games I've been to have had more folks in seats at the start of the "4th quarter" than at the tip-off.
