Although he wasn't famous like others I have posted here who have passed, I thought it was important to add him to those who have served and have gone before us.

My uncle Anthony Amato served in the US Merchant Marine and help transport tons of war material. I recall him talking about seeing Pearl Harbor after the attack and how sobering it was to see so many warships still in the process of being recovered.

Anthony Amato passed away on Memorial Day, at the age of 82. An appropriate day if you think about it for a veteran.
