Just wondering if anyone can give me a tip about books on the subject of British WW2 armour in NW Europe from D-day and beyond.

I would be very thankful for any advice on the subject.

Sorry for picking up and old thread, but since I didn't get any reply last time I thought I should rise the issue again.

Concord , Squadron and Osprey / Vanguard have soft cover books on AFVs, softskins and battles / campaigns ( Market Garden etc) Most are priced from 15 to 25 bucks. Best to check them out in person at LHS as their coverage may overlap or stray from the information ,pictures and diagrams your looking for. Jim

Hi Thomas,

British Sherman Tanks by Dennis Oliver - ISBN 962-361-131-5

British Armour in North West Europe by Dennis Oliver - ISBN 962-361-164-1

I can recommend both books, you'll get a breakdown of units, markings, colour plates and lots of good reference pictures.

If you want a much more in depth look at the landings, then D Day then and Now Volume 1 and 2 are excellent erferences for the landings. They also do subsequent volumes in that series.

Sorry, missed it the first time around. Check out Concord's Armor at War Series, they have some great titles. I have a few of those and they have very good pictures.

HTH!
Cheers!
Stefan
