My friend has an airbrush he used to fix a nick in his car. The paint went on fine. The clear coat lacure clogged his airbrush.
What can I use to unclog the bursh?

Somebody probably has a better idea than this, but I'll post it just in case.
Depends on how long the paint has been in the airbrush. You can try spraying copious amounts of lacquer thinner through it to soften it up then disassemble and clean it very well. I wouldn't spray anything stronger than lacquer thinner through it. As it is, he will probably have to replace most/all the seals in it when he's done.
If it's a cheap airbrush or the paint has dried real good (several days) the easiest way would probably be to replace it.

A good soaking in lacquer thinner should do it but perhaps a better solution (theres a pun there) would be MEK (methyl ethyl keytone).
MEK is a potent solvent that will deal to most paint finishes, -and a lot of plastics. It is a good solvent to have on hand, it will also clean up CA and epoxy adhesives.
For the litigious US of A I better attach a health warning - dont breathe the vapours, dont absorb through your epidermis and do not smoke while using it!
Regards Dave

Thanks guys - TW, the best part - I may unclog it for him and he'll probably still buy a new one #:-)
Dave - I'll be sure to use my full environmental suit when I use MEK.
Sounds like I've got a project tonight!
