Gentleman
I just wanted you to know that one of Armorama's members has been caught stealing from me, CRM Hobbies and Sprue Brothers models.
Who knows how many of you he has hit at shows and how many vendors have been robbed by this bandit.

I do know that a majority of my loot was discovered on Armorama with the help of a half dozen or so members, guys thanks for the help and possibly we have put a halt to this Benedict Arnold of our Hobby.

Without your help I would have not gotten my loot back, or some of it anyways.

Thanks and Have a great day!

Thanks Justin
It's a small world and the modeling community is even smaller, I am just lucky that I had a tail end charlie looking after a few of our interests.
Have a great day.

Guy's let me make this clear! this person was using Armorama as an outlet to move the stolen merchandise!
If it were you who had a couple of thousand dollars worth of merchandise stolen then only to find out that it was one of your best pals doing so, and using Armorama as a broker you would be doing the same as I.

On the other hand at least I'm not posting his name for the public to see, I just wanted those who were involved in catching him to be aware that their hard work paid off.
Thanks, and if you think that I am being an ass about it well whatever! at least he's not in JAIL!
Have a better day!

Is this Dean from Shreveport, LA?
The person has been a member of Armorama for many years.
It's sad and I hope that he gets the help that is needed.

It sucks when you get ripped off.
It sucks even more when you find out it was a friend that did it.
I'm glad you caught him Chris.

I'm going to delete the other thread as I don't think you need two running that will probably create the same basic questions.

Hi Everyone,
Sorry to hear about your loss,In my opinion you should post their names so everyones knows not to deal with these crooks.I would be Pi--ed off to find out someone was stealing from me and selling it to make a few bucks or worse yet thousands
If you do not want to post their names feel free to pm me as I WILL NOT deal with a thief
Is there anyway armourama can boot these people off this site?
I have dealt wiith several different individuals and have been totally saitsfied with them and would hate to find out that I purchaed stolen goods,I am not saying that anyone I purchased from is a thief, but it would make me sick to find out one of them was!!!
POST THE NAMES!!!!
I would like to thank all of the people(you know who you are)who have made transactions with me an the people who have help me with advice.I am also looking forward to dealing with more HONEST modellers on this site!!
That is my opinion.Take it for what its worth.

Sucks when somebody comes to your house with a Backpack on.

Strange I would think.

Glad you got the Culprit.

To not name the person involved or tell how exactly this person stole from the various parties mentioned (internet crime or was he physically in your home?) casts suspicion on everyone who has been a long standing member of Armorama.
Obviously if you were ripped off via the internet the suspect group would be far greater. If the person was physically in your home then I guess it would be limited to folks in the mid-west.
Nonetheless, I feel you should 'out' the person as a public service. Good that you caught him, sorry there are people so readily willing to steal from their 'friends'

Cheers,
Charles

To me stealing is deserving of jail time, whether it be a real car or a bunch of expensive model cars. Slap him on the wrist and he will do it again. Maybe not to you but to someone else...... Glad that you caught him........Al

I'm glad you got this resolved Chris. Nothing irritates me more than a thief, especially one that smiles at you while he stabs you in the back.

Good to see and talk with you at AMPS. See you in June in Marietta, GA

Yes he stole the merchandise from my house! my wife is so pissed!
Yes what nads one has, to come into ones home and take what he pleases!

Yes he should be in jail, this is when I sat him down and let him know what his options were, and there were only three at that moment!

1. Give me all of my loot back and I also want monetary compensation for what has been sold!
2. Go to jail!
3. Go to Jail and find a lover nicknamed the Anal intruder!

I think since he is getting out of the Jail part that is only fair to tell the people here who the guilty person is. We don't want people to not deal with people in fear that he "might be the one". This might hurt the BST forum by keeping it a secret. Just you and the few that helped you knowing may not stop him from selling the stuff he stole elsewhere.

Well, just a thought on this disgusting topic-Why not just reveal name to Staff Jim and have him deleted from the ranks on the quiet side. I'm not into torches, shotguns, pichforks, and nooses today.
Chris, I know betrayed friendship trust absolutely sucks but I hope you don't lose it for the other people you know. Hope you know what I mean.

I attend most of the Midwest shows that Gordon (Sprue Bros.) and Chris (CRM) attend, at least in the northern part of the country. I don't get to hang with the Mrosko-man too often, but I can assure that I've talked with Sprue and CRM about thefts we've had at shows. Fortunately, a jar of pigment isn't going to hurt as much as a new kit, but its theft just the same.

When you go to a show, especially one with lots of people, I see the opportunity time and again...someone will grab a kit from a pile and look for the guy who's selling it. 99.9% of the time, they're honest people who seek out the seller in the elbow-to-elbow crowd. Other times, they simply make it look casual and walk away.

Glad to hear you got him Chris.
