What's the difference between a resin, PVC and vinyl kit? How will you know if it's a resin/PVC/vinyl kit you're buying without looking at the names?

wow. tough question. I can tell by looking, but how to explain. Resin is usually found in the aftermarket stuff. It is more dense than what you find in a normal kit and it is usually poured into a mold (cast) I think it has a much lower melting point then styrene. It is also more brittle. PVC is poly vinyl chloride. Don't think you meant this stuff. Ususally found in the plastic plumbing pipes. Poly-STYRENE is what most kits are made of. It is injection molded as oppossedto cast. Reuires metal castings and the stuff is pumped in as oppossed to resin which can be in a soft casting and the mixture poured in. Vinyl is the stuff Barbie dolls/action figures are made of. Never worked in this material before, know it requies a special glue. Resin is best with super glue, and of course styrene has it's own type.
