I am wondering if anyone has these parts left over from DML kit 6183. I want it to uparmor another M4A3 kit.

I will trade for these parts or buy outright.

You might check Verlinden. They used to make an add on armor kit for the M4A3 (I know because I have one (used making an up-armored Sherman). Their current up-armor kit isn't very good, except perhaps for the turret armor, but the old set was spot on.

I was wrong, it wasn't verlinden that made it, it was Tank Workshop. You can get it from Greatmodels:

Thank you again, John.
I really prefer plastic (Still looking if anyone is out there), but it looks like the Tank Workshop stuff will have to do.

In case you come up dry, the TWS stuff is pretty good. I used it about 5 years ago to up armor a Tamiya M4A3 and it fit well. The primary problem is cutting off the pour plugs, but the detailing is nice and the glacis plate fit well over the Tamiya headlight mounts. I just moved the headlights to the new glacis plate along with the brush guards and lift rings. The main difference is I think (I don't have my "Thunderbolt" kit sitting in front of me) that the lower plate, which covers the transmission cover doesn't extend quite as far down. Still, the bolts are nicely placed, and as I said if you can't get a Thunderbolt set it is a quality option.

It was Verlinden that did a Sherman add on armor set. It's similar, but different from the type used on Thunderbolt.

Verlinden does one, but IMO, Tank Workshops is better. The Verlinden set has the turret armor which is cool, but the TWS set has the glacis plate from a Sherman, ala the 3rd Army's upgrade program. Also I may be wrong but I've never seen the "side skirt" armor that Verlinden show, and IIRC when the set came out that part came in for more than a little criticism.
