For anyone building the Acad Merk IV, and not using the kit-supplied ball and chain armor, I need it.
There were so many ways I thought of to say "I need balls" or "ball-and-chain wanted" but I held myself in check, sort of.....
Help a brother out?

To add: I don't need the whole PE fret, just those dinky chains.....I've got a Merk2 that's held up because I can't get my fat fingers to cooperate. In a little over 6 hours I got about a dozen balls attached to the tiny chain in the Legends basket update kit and ended up with a huge headache. That's not fun for me and I like my modeling to be fun.

I am building the Academy kit and currently I do not plan to use the kit supplied parts (bought the Legend set instead).

Two issues for you to consider:

1) I plan to use the photo etch part that attach to the turret, thus I could try to remove the chains as carefully as I can and give them over to you (though you would loose the first link of each chain)
2) your time vs. my skills : I still have to try the Legend solution and would like to keep the Academy parts as a back-up. I would be in a position to make a decision in a month or so (forgive me but I am not able to work on my models as much as I would like...)

While I'm at it, I also need the FN Mags from Academy's M60 Magach kit, if anyone has any laying around......

let me check what I have..I once bought a Merkava kit just for the lower hull..I may have the rest of the kit stashed away.

just checked..no balls.. well, the kit doesnt ..Its academys Merk III. missing the lower hull and possibly some of the suspension arms. everything else is there..turret wheels, etc.. I had built the IDF Namer, and used the kits lower hull ..any use to you?

I am done with the Legend AM set (I lost my sight and patience with it, but the kit survived my temptation to throw it against the wall 10-15 times - one of the least fun things I have done for modelling BTW).

If you still need "the balls" that came with the kit (you have to peel them from the sprue) to go with Mike's chains, I have them.

I can try to send them from my corner of the world to yours if you PM me your address.
