Hey There, amigos!!

Just wanted to let any interested Southern California model builders and figure fanatics that our next club meeting is this Saturday, August 2nd. As usual, the time is 9:00 AM and the place will once again be the Chiodo Brothers Productions effects studio in Burbank... 110 W. Providencia Ave in beautiful Burbank, next to the 5 Freeway between the Alameda and Olive exits... 818-842-5656

Once again, all ages and skill levels are welcome (and encouraged!)! We have young and adult beginners through intermediate modellers (such as myself) and your typical prize-winning Hollywood effects types...who are all willing ta share their techniques with us struggling modeler types!!

Everyone shares, if they care to (no pressure), and the atmosphere is casual, supportive and downright instructive!! Hey, it's all about the hobby and that's why we meet (okay the free donuts are cool, too)!

So yeah, we start with complimentary coffee and donuts ta get the morning going... We then do a members' Show and Tell, where ya get ta yap a little about your latest creation or work in progress. So don't forget to bring a model, figure, or action figure you'd like to put out on display ---why not it share it with the class, ya know?! Talking is ENCOURAGED!!

And remember this club has got members with every interest imaginable: sci fi, armor (all periods), figures, cars, ships, scratchbuilders, etc. so don't be bashful if you think you're interests are out in left field!!

Next comes our Raffle --- this month in particular boasts a $200.00 Paasche Millennium double action airbrush and a starter set of Vallejo flesh colors, amongst other prizes (not bad for a quarter a ticket!)!

And last but not least, we are continuing our "hands on the plastic" series where we take a model from start to finish. The workshop this time around will focus on prepping and painting your model. So bring an assembled/ready to paint kit as well as your favorite thinner and paints and we'll get busy, hopefully learn some from our pros, and have a little fun ta boot! So grab up that kit that you have just been DYING ta paint and drop in for our club meeting!!

Hope to see you all on Saturday August 2nd!

Aloha

Johnny B
