Just a thought came to mind. Possible campaign- a cross-forum campaign of the Winter War - the 105 day war between Finland and the USSR.
Cross-forum, appropriate subjects in either armor, aircraft, diorama, or figure.
I've been doing a little research on the possible subjects- interesting and esoteric subjects on both the Soviet and Finnish side.
Time frame (if any interest) to match the real war - 30 November to 14 March

So,
what do you think?

I'm sorry, I know absolutely nothing about the subject. Could you tell us more ?

:-) Interesting, not sure if it would fit in with my overall theme, but I'm definately up for a winter campaign for WWII :-)

After time spent in Korea, I do not think I will EVER do any winter scenes. Just thinking about it makes me cold. However, the theme does bring up images of camo ski troops slipping in and out of fir trees playing tag with a Russian tank (frosted steel and all).

The Winter War- (quick history lesson)
began Nov. 30 1939 with the USSR invading Finland at the Karelian Isthmus. This isthmus is the very south-east portion of Finland- in close proximity to Leningrad. The USSR 'politely requested' from Finland this isthmus in order to obtain a Baltic Sea port, and to secure additional land for the protection of Leningrad.
Tiny Finland refused the 'polite request' , and on Nov. 30 1939, the USSR invaded Finland to take this territory by force.
The war lasted 105 days. Losses for the Soviets were staggering - 400,000 casualities, with little to no gain on the field. Fighting alone, and almost out of ammunition, Finland agreed to peace terms in March 1940. The Karelian isthmus was ceded to the USSR, and the port at Hanko, Finland was leased to the Soviets for 30 years.

For modelers, there is an interesting range of esoteric subjects to consider.
among these are,
Armor-
Russian- T-28
BT-7
T-35
Finnish
Vickers Light Tank

Aircraft-
Russian
Polikarpov I-16
Ilyushin I1-4
Tupolev ANT-6

Finland
Fokker D.XXI
Fokker C.X
Bristol Blenheim Mk I

(more to be added as I do more research)

-will edit more later
