I don't think you should be taking bet's. I am getting anoyed by your comments concernign PMMS. If anything you should take note of why people like PMMS and go there for news and reviews. I definitely like it better than the news section of armorama.

Doesn't anybody have a sense of humor anymore?

Terry's site is up....oh no it's down. He's putting it up again....oh maybe not.
Come on, Vegas would be laying odds on this also.

Jim Rae's post was obviously meant in jest.
This whole PMMS/Flame soap opera is nothing if not laughable.

And then it's big of you to end your post with a direct insult. Definitely.

locked until I can move it to the spare parts forum as it has nothing to do with AFV's or armorama

I wish Terry all the best in what ever he does but not our problem

cheers

Ack... I am looking around... wondering why I can't see a reply button and finally realized it was because the topic was locked.

Okay... big breath here...

To the staff/moderators: It's okay for the community to talk about PMMS, ML, Hyperscale, Military Modeling, ModelArmour, or any other darn site on the net. In some of these cases those discussion may need to be in other forums, but in this case PMMS is primarly an AFV site so it's fine that this forum is used for that. So in short (to my staff) please stop treating this like it's a bomb waiting to explode. If people break the rules, fine, remove posts, etc. But this topic in NO WAY breaks any rules. Yes some of us are tired of this topic, fine... don't read it. And certainly don't post something that is basically expressing your frustration with said topics.

To the members: I don't expect you all to be 'rah-rah' cheerleaders for Armorama, but the staff does deserve some respect for the hard-work they do here.

Comments like this are totally off-base. Jim Rae (yes that's his name, not Jimbrae, Jim Brae, etc) has on more occasions than I can count defended Terry, PMMS and been an advocate for improving the hobby in general. Jim made a joke. Michel, you retorted with something to further bait and goad him. I think even my 9 year old daughter would know who was in the wrong on that score.

That's all. I have a cold and I don't need this aggravation.

Jim

There's 'sense of humour' and there's 'sense of humour'...

Laughing at/taking the mickey out of someone who - altruistically - has acted for the good of all in the hobby by providing excellent reviews and breaking news, and has then been the subject of frankly libelous comments, is, to my mind, immature and pandering to the actions of the cyber-bully in this case.

Who hasn't been involved in flame wars and regretful comments on the intertubes?
I know you have, Charles...
Take that any way you like, but bear in mind that the following comments are directed at the general audience and not just yourself.

Personal attacks and cyberbullying can be deeply hurtful and depressing, and frankly - while I have a great deal of respect for all of those who contribute positively to the hobby online ( Armorama - happy now..?) - I wouldn't blame Terry if he says 'sod the lot of you' and packs up again.

You're a pack of ingrates, circling around looking for a soft target.

In all of this, I have not heard or read ONE post wherein Balkwill is criticised for his ongoing hate-filled and spiteful 'blog' which exists for the sole purpose of making him out to be a 'victim' while he injects more bile and venom into the debate and drags good people's names through his dungheap .

I've said before, it's just a hobby - but we should behave online as we would if we were in the same room, and frankly, I wouldn't even want to be in the same building as some of you, as you have proven to be churlish, ignorant, arrogant and deluded by the grandeur of internet 'fame'...

all the best

Just in case anyone WANTS to lay money on with me, i'm NOT really taking bets.

As aspects of this thread have become so literal, I thought i'd better make that clear...

Acav,

I guess everyone's opinions on this matter are just that...opinions.

In your world it appears Terry Ashley is a knight in shining armor who can do no wrong. His word is unquestionable.

It's different in my world.

Never said that at all.

What I do want I see is that old phrase 'benefit of the doubt' restored to it's rightful place in civilised discourse.

But this is the internet, silly me...

I for one am glad to see it back and wish Terry all the best with it. I appreciate the effort he goes to as I appreciate the effort of all who maintain Armorama and keep it interesting and mostly enjoyable.

But I have noticed lately here and on one or two other forums I frequent that tempers are a bit shorter and there are more flame threads around. Fado fado, when I was growing up my mother always said "if you can't say something nice, don't say anything..." That was sound advice!

It is more like a soap opera deal in many ways.

Actually I cannot see how somebody could take offense to somebody else's remarks over a website of a review of there's.

Gosh it is only still a hobby.

Have fun enjoy.

I have used his site maybe 4 times a year and most of the times the review I was looking for was not there so to me take it or leave it.

If I was to say this on ML there would a flame war on in minutes.

Don't know bout anyone else, but it seems to me that some people just love to take things to extremes. Not to mention going off-topic...
Personally I'm just glad Terry decided to start up again.

All sites have their good and bad point; just look past the bad ones LOL.

Thought this is about modeling, not testosterone?

If you don't like it, don't read it I say. Someone wants to insult and they get flipped the bird by me and I just go past. Maturity people?
